Qualifications Information

"STAFF" EDUCATION PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Canada Soccer has established minimum requirements for "staff" education to ensure that players are provided with the best learning environments imaginable.

  • Staff (Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Team Managers, Practice helpers, etc.) will need to complete the Qualification Requirements (as outlined by EMSA) prior to taking the field with a team.
  • Community Stream is for our Recreational House League and Lake Shore League Coaching staffs
  • Competitive Stream is for our Competitive teams (development or target)
  • These qualifications are set forth by Canada Soccer and flow down through Ontario Soccer, Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association (our District) and to Kincardine Minor Soccer Club.
  • Kincardine Minor Soccer's ability to have an accredited Club in good standing and be insured depends on the compliance to these qualifications of each team's staff.

Thanks you in advance for your cooperation and we appreciate you volunteering to provide a quality soccer experience for the kids in our community.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Participants can register and attend courses at the age of 14 or older

WHY ARE QUALIFICATIONS IMPORTANT AND REQUIRED?

The trainings for qualifications are required for any person coaching, assistant coaching, managing, helping out with practices, etc.

They apply for Outdoor teams and play, as well as Indoor (Futsal, Competitive team practice season, etc.)

The bottom line is everyone representing Kincardine Minor Soccer on the field with kids needs to complete trainings to be qualified and insured.

For Competitive Stream Coaches: EMSA will require certification numbers or transcripts showing the minimum coaching standard has been obtained for the season. Rosters will not receive final approval until the minimum standards are met.

For Community Stream Coaches: it is the club responsibility to ensure the minimum standards are met for all coaches. EMSA and/or Ontario Soccer may audit clubs from time to time to ensure compliance

TRACKING OF QUALIFICATIONS

In order for the Club and EMSA to identify the qualifications met coach.ca gathers and provides an online transcript to view. An "NCCP number" is required to be setup by any staff looking to meet their qualifications. Navigate to here to more info about setting up your NCCP number.
