This policy, procedure and guidelines are regarding the temporary use of players from a younger age group into an older age group and/or the temporary movement of players from a lower level of competition to a higher level (eg: Div 2 to Div 1) within an age group.
Policies also can vary if the League that the Kincardine Minor Soccer team playing in has their own specific rules regarding calling up players for games.
Eligibility:
Typically, players are called up to replace an injured or absent player on a roster. Sometimes players are called up to reward outstanding play.
Call Up decisions can occur at any time throughout the season. However, an individual player should only be called up a maximum of 5 times during the season,
Process:
- Program Coach of the higher-level team determines that s/he needs an additional player or players for an upcoming match.
- Program Coach of the higher-level team contacts the Program Coach from a lower level team to discuss roster needs and to identify and agree on appropriate player(s) to call up.
- After parental permission is secured, the Program Coach of the higher-level team adds the player’s name to their game sheet roster. No signatures are required.
Things to be aware of:
- Once the match has been played the player returns to their regular team.
- Call-up player, depending on age group, may need a different player jersey and a number
- Call-up player's priority is to their team they are rostered to for the season.
- A call-up player may practice with the requesting team.
