Club clarification on the different birth year specific age groups that are looking to pull together "competitive" teams. Kincardine Minor Soccer does not run these as standard program offerings (like Timbits, House League and Lake Shore League), primarily because we don't have enough volunteers currently on the board to have a "competitive" level focus and secondarily, Bruce-Grey-Huron counties do not have a league for these teams to play in (where other towns would also need to field teams). The teams travel to other leagues such as run by Southwest Soccer Regional Soccer Association (Kitchener) or Elgin Middlesex Soccer Association (London). Soccer Clubs, such as Kincardine Minor Soccer are in a District (ours is EMSA) which is then under Ontario Soccer Association. The Club is happy to support parents stepping forward to run and coach these teams, but the teams are 95+% run and managed by the coaches putting these teams together. Per Ontario Soccer Association rules, a team has to be associated with an accredited soccer Club, thus Kincardine Minor Soccer is involved with them in that manner.
For inquiries about starting a team of your own, please visit the Club website (www.kincardinesoccer.com) and send us an email for further discussion.
Sincerely Kincardine & District Minor Soccer Club
